Today Merrik is 2 weeks old. It has been a crazy 2 weeks but wonderful. I was looking through pictures last night of all of the kids I found Masons picture that my friend Karen took when he was 2 weeks old.
Here is Mirra at 2 weeks old.
I think that they all look similar yet all so different at the same time. I have the most beautiful children in the world.

Merrik is home!!!
We were able to bring our sweet baby home from the hospital on Saturday May 28th. The Dr's cleared him and said he is perfectly healthy. We can now treat him as if the last nine days had not happened and everything should be fine...
Mirra and Mason finally got to meet their baby brother that day. They love him... I was really worried about how Mason would react. He loves babies and Merrik is no exception. He fell in love with him at first sight. He kept saying when Jacob and I got home "I am never going to throw balls at the baby Mama. I love him. I will be soft with the baby." He said it about 50 times in the first hour of being home. He even told me a few days ago "Mom this is my baby, your baby is at the hospicle." Every time Merrik is awake he kisses his head over and over and says "OOOHHH He's so cute, I love him. I love my baby."
Mirra was with me at the ultra sound when we found out we were having a boy. She actually cried. She didn't want another brother to hit and kick her. She wanted a sister so bad. Though she keeps telling me she hopes that Merrik isn't as crazy as Mason is when he gets bigger, she still loves him. The first thing she does in the morning is come in my room and just watch Merrik sleep. She can stare at him longer then I have ever seen anyone just watch a baby.
I am so grateful to my Mom for being here to keep this house running and functioning while Merrik was in the hospital and for a few days after he came home. I don't think that we would have survived without her. She took me back and forth to the hospital which is not just right up the road it is about a half hour away. She got Mirra to school, kept Mason entertained, made all the meals, cleaned the house, and kept me emotionally sane just to name a few things she did for us... She is amazing and Jacob and I are so grateful to her for being here for us when she probably should have been with Dad to help him. She left yesterday to go back home but to help me out further she took Mirra and Mason home with her. Talk about super women. Two kids on a plane by yourself and one of them is a 2 year old little boy... I love you Mom and I miss you.
