Waiting in the Hospital

Mason had his tubes put in on Friday. He was such a brave little guy. I had to have him at the hospital by 6:30 AM and had an hour to kill before the Doctor came in. The nurse was so good with him. She spent a while making sure he had toys and everything to keep him entertained. We walked him up and down the hall ways and every nurse thought he was the most adorable little guy. In the end though it was the packet of stickers and a coloring book the nurse gave him that made him happy. The minute I pulled it out he plopped down on his stomach and started to color. He was still coloring and applying stickers when the Dr came in.
The surgery was fast and he was ready to play 3 hours later. He is feeling so much better now. Jacob and I didn't realize how hyper and outgoing our little guy could be. He is all over the place. It is so fun to see him feeling better.

Tubes

Our poor baby Mason has still been getting sick. He has gotten 6 ear infections in the last 3 months and has had so many colds I lost count. We have had him on an antibiotic for the last month just to keep him healthy. The first sing that I ever get that anything is even wrong is when the ear starts oozing puss out of it. I know gross huh but for real it gets this green gross puss that fills up the whole ear. He doesn't get fussy or anything through it all he has still been such a sweet good boy. But it is time to do something to help him. Tomorrow Mason gets tubes put in his ears. I am so excited to see how things will turn out. I hope it will make him feel better. Keep your fingers crossed.

Valentines Day

This year for valentines day we were not very exciting. We got the kids new outfits instead of candy and took them to McDonalds. Exciting I know but Mirra and Mason had a blast. I have a hard time eating there so the kids don't get to go very often. Mason discovered the little slide and had a blast with it. We also made cookies and let Mirra deliver them to our family and friends. It was so fun to see her run up and be so excited about giving away our cookies. She would get nervous and throw them at the door knock then run as fast as she could. I am sure everyones cookies were shattered but Mirra had fun doing it.

Mason Dancing

A few weeks ago Jacob brought the kids in to see me at work. Mason Loves to listen to my Ipod and Dance. He sings a lot to but for the most part he just dances. It is so cute. Sorry I was getting used to my new camera so it goes sideways for a minute but I thought it was so cute I had to share it. Watch his eyes they are adorable.

Mason's Christmas 2009 age 1

Mirra's Christmas 2009 age 4

Christmas

Christmas this year was spent with my family. We had a lot of fun and got spoiled again. This year is the first year I really got to enjoy having Santa Clause back in my life. Mirra was so excited to see what Santa would bring. This year she has really wanted something and worked hard for it. All she wanted was a camera of her very own. She is really shy but when it was time to see Santa she walked right up to him, told him she wanted a pink Camera, sat there long enough for me to take a picture and jumped off.
A few days later, a bitter cold snowy morning she asked me if Santa like living in the North Pole. I said “Well yea, it is his home!” She asked “does he ever get cold mom?”
“Probably sweetie it is really cold in the North Pole.”
“Mom can Santa come stay with us in the summer so that he can get warm!”
She was so sweet and innocent about it. I am so proud of her for thinking of others. She is always very concerned about everyone else. I am so blessed with such a sweet girl.

Mason liked Christmas too. Santa built a giraffe out of the mega blocks that he brought for Mason. He had so much fun knocking them down. He didn’t really care about anything else though.

So I was just going to join the land of the blogger's, when I signed in to start one I found that Jacob already had and he did such a good job keeping up on it. I think I will take over now. I don't know that I will do much better. Jacob and I have now been married for over 5 years and have 2 beautiful children. we are both working and trying to keep up with life. My mom is such a blessing to us. She watches the kids for us.

Mirra is now 4 getting ready to start kindergarten in August. I am having a hard time with that. She is supposed to still be small and sweet. She is the Princess of the house and is the sweetest little girl. We are so proud of her. She has learned so much this year. She knows all of her letters and the sounds they make. She tries to sound out words in books, and she love to write. She also loves to draw and color. The other day we were watching TV when she drew a picture of Mickey Mouse with out any help. I am really impressed. She is really good at paying attention to detail when she draws too. She is really good at putting the eyes, mouth and nose right where they go. I think we have our little artist in the works. She is also taking dance classes and loves them. She loves to sing and spend time playing with her daddy.

Mason is 15 months old tomorrow. He is such a sweet baby. We have had a lot of fun trying to get him healthy. Mason has had a chronic cough since June of last year. Poor baby he cough so hard that he throws up everything. I had to finally switch pediatricians to get the Dr to listen to me when I told him there was something wrong. We found out thathe had had a sinus infection for at least 3 month long sinus and the new Dr started him on antibiotics. With in 2 days he was 90% better. I think the first Doctor had a hard time listening to me because Mason is such a happy, good mannered boy. He is always smiling and doesn't ever look sick or act sick. Well the cough never did really go away so we back in and found that he has Asthma. With breathing treatments me got him feeling better for about 2 weeks when this lovely Utah inversion set it and started our battle all over again. He ended up with RSV but didn't have to be hospitalized because he was doing really well with his breathing treatments. He has now been cough free for a week and a half. Through all of this he has been sweet and happy. He is really active and love to explore everything. He loves being near his big sister and kisses her over and over. I could not imagine life with out him.
